Danay Engineering organized a comprehensive two day seminar on Structural Failure Investigations for the engineering, legal and insurance professionals, held in January 11-12, 1999 at the University of Toronto. The first in a series of Structural Forensic Engineering topics, the seminar provided a systematic approach and develop a common language and mutual understanding of the failure types and mechanisms, investigation process and techniques, and its role in insurance claims and litigation. Presented by a panel of experts from the academic, engineering, legal, and insurance community in North America and Europe, the seminar was attended by engineering consultants, lawyers practicing insurance and construction law, owners, contractors,insurance executives in charge of construction claims, insurance adjusters, and engineers and managers from Municipalities, Public Utilities, Infrastructure and Transport Authorities who are responsible for critical structures.
