While with Ontario Hydro, Dr. Danay conducted a structural failure investigation of the reactor containment as part of the requirements of the Hare Commission on Ontario Nuclear Safety.
The scope of the investigation was to provide, by means of a series of parametric studies, the failure modes and thresholds of the reactor building internal structures and containment envelope, as a result of failure to shutdown, following a large loss of coolant accident at a Pickering Nuclear Generating Station A.
